Support and growth are both a product of and produce ‘love’ — a principled commitment to people, beyond one’s own interests.

Decisions are made *at the end* of meetings, Denise and Clay agree. If you have to make a decision… you will! This also seems an inherent driver of community. So, it’s both need and love, very different principles but both productive of community.

Clay’s talk reminds me that communities of love are also temporal — we have tradition and forebears whose behaviors and commitments influence our own. This is very different from arrangements of contract.
